Adding a Network Printer for eFORMz

eFORMz sends fully-formed PCL, PostScript, or other code that you specify directly to a printer through a Generic / Text only driver. Do not send eFORMz output through a PCL driver or some other driver type. Complete the following procedure for Windows systems to add a network printer to your list of available printers for eFORMz to print to.

Prerequisites

  • The printer’s IP address
  • Permission to create a new printer on the system

Windows 10

  1. Search the system for Advanced Printer Setup and follow the link or Printers & scanner under window devices
  2. Click The printer that I want isn’t listed.
  3. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname, and then click Next.
  4. In the Device type field, select TCP/IP Device.
  5. In the Hostname or IP address field, enter the address of the printer.
  6. Clear the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use box. The printer must use the Generic / Text Only driver. Click Next.
  7. Select Generic in the Manufacturer column, select the Generic / Text Only driver, and then click Next.
  8. Specify a printer name. This is the name the printer is shown as in Printers and Drivers.
  9. Click Do not share this printer, click Next, and then click Finish.

Now the printer is included to the system’s list of printers. The next step is to add the printer to eFORMz as explained in https://minisoft.com/support/index.php/adding-a-new-printer/.
